Foaled March 4, 1994

VW Black Satin ( Isa Black Dee X Pharaoh Hill Opet) This beautiful, very feminine mare is totally black except for a few white hairs on her forehead. She is Crabbet-Maynesboro-Kellogg breeding with both a qualifying damline and sireline. Her bloodlines also feature a dash of Babson and new Egyptian, with a smidge of US Remount Polish, giving her a wonderful trainable people-loving personality with grace, athleticism, and type. Her sire had an extensive show record in Western Pleasure and Ladies Side Saddle. Satin herself is an excellent trail horse. Her tail female is Bint Yamama, who has traditionally been considered a Jellabiet Feysul damline, from Yamama, making her strain Kuhaylah Jallabiyah. However, mitochondrial DNA has shown her damline to be from a different Yamama (the one who was also the dam of Mesaoud) with a Ghazieh damline, which makes her strain Saqlawiyah Jidraniyah. After producing a gorgeous solid black colt in 2007 by Malabar Denmark, our homozygous black straight Malabar performance stallion, she is bred back to him for another outstanding black sporthorse foal in 2008. Sold to John Kuchinski--congratulations, John! You got a sweetheart!
